West Columbia Gorge Humane Society will hold its annual “A Tail to Remember” fundraising dinner and auction at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 9, at the Heathman Lodge in Vancouver.
The event will feature a cocktail reception, dinner, “dessert dash” and live auction to raise funds for the Washougal-based nonprofit organization. It will follow COVID-19 protocols and limit attendance to 150 people.
“Our original plan was to sell 250 tickets to this event. However, in order to allow for comfortable social distancing, we are limiting ticket sales,” according to a statement on the humane society’s website. “Masks will be required while indoors unless you are eating or drinking. All bidding will be done electronically from your individual cell phone. Hand sanitizer will be provided throughout the cocktail reception area, check-in, and item pick-up. The gathering will be lively, the food will be great, the auction items will be fabulous, and it will be fantastic to see you all in person again.”
The fundraiser’s silent option, which went live on Oct. 1, will remain open through the cocktail reception’s “Super Silent Auction,” and close at 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 9.
