The Camas City Council will hold a special meeting at 4:30 p.m. Monday, July 26, at Camas City Hall, to interview interim mayor candidates.
The city closed its application process to fill the interim mayor position on July 16. Two applicants — interim Camas Mayor Ellen Burton and Camas resident Jack Derington — applied for the position.
The person named Camas’ interim mayor will lead the city through early November, when Camas voters will elect a new mayor to fulfill the remainder of former Mayor Barry McDonnell’s first term through 2023.
The July 26 meeting will take place in-person and also be available online.
